2021s - NLI Signing, Admissions & Scholarships (Committed Athletes)

The NCAA has been talking about pushing the dead period back as well as pushing the NLI signing period back (currently November for Softball Student-Athletes).
Why?
- Budget Cuts
- Roster Sizes & giving all College Student-Athletes a 5th year
NFCA Meeting: College Coaches worried about de-committing of 2021s due to cuts in budgets & roster sizes. Remember, you are a verbal commitment until your NLI is signed. Your scholarship money is not guaranteed until you sign your NLI.
How do you avoid being de-committed?
- Communicate with your College Coach
- Ask Questions (but do not be a pain).
- Are any student-athletes on roster taking advantage of the 5th year the NCAA has given them?
- With budget cuts happening all over the country, has your administration talked about if they are going to honor all 2021s verbal committed student-athletes scholarships?
