CAA Sports Adopt an "Extreme Flexibility Model"
CAA Softball Programs Include: JMU, Hofstra, Towson, College of Charleston, Delaware, Elon, Drexel, & UNCW
ALL Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) schools are making plans for students and student-athletes to come back to campus in the fall which is a good sign for athletics! As a safety precaution as well as budget concerns, they are allowing flexibility with conference scheduling in the 2020-2021 seasons and calling it the "Extreme Flexibility Model".
"The Extreme Flexibility Model (EFM) is designed to provide institutions with the opportunity to maximize cost savings relative to expenses associated with regular-season travel, while also providing student-athletes and coaches with the safest possible options when traveling to away contests." All CAA sports plan on playing at least the minimum number of contests to meet NCAA requirements and has option of scheduling additional games up to the NCAA Maximum if they choose.
